About this painting: Golden acer leaves create dapples of light on an Autumn day. Warm tones bringing a sense of comfort & relaxation to a room. Glowing, balmy colours which naturally make you feel snug & comfortable.

Painted at The Garden House, just as Autumn starting passing to Winter & Nature exploded in it's last blast of colour before the cold set in. 

The title of the painting, as always, came from the thoughts & mindful moments of being in nature at this time of year. The falling leaves made me ponder on letting go. As the branches let go of leaves , allowing them to float to the ground, so there are things in life, that if we can let go of,  can make our lives easier. Petty resentments, upsets, worried or angry thoughts which do nothing to serve us. Anxiety over things we cannot control, nervous energy which just makes us stressed.

It's not easy to let go. Often our minds want to constantly go over the same things. but doing so makes us bitter & unhappy. Catching our thoughts as they come to mind & imagining each is a golden leaf floating to the ground can have the power to clear the mind & support calm & well being.

Painting so many Acer leaves, I realised how easy it is to fall into old patterns & that regularly letting go can be an exercise which keeps me balanced & well.

This golden painting not only brings a comforting focal point to a room interior, but can also be a reminder to just let go & be in the moment.
