About this painting: On a bright Summer afternoon the peonies emerge from the shadows in the flower border & catch the warm sunlight. Delicate ragged petals curl & fold in this extravagant bloom. Representing new beginnings, compassion, prosperity & good fortune they are a great favourite of mine to paint. This particular painting has the bloom emerging from shadows with the light soft on its petals. It brings a soothing atmosphere to a space & is a size which fits in even the smallest space but is big enough to catch the eye & generate mood.
