About This painting: Painted at the turning point between winter and spring, Mosaic began as a quiet act of hope.

Outside, the world was still grey and waiting, the garden resting, the countryside holding its breath. But inside, something softer was stirring. Without reference, without plan, I began to place small pieces of colour onto the canvas. A petal here, a leaf there, each one chosen instinctively, like fragments of a memory of May.

Slowly, the painting revealed itself.
Each mark became part of a whole, a gathering of light, warmth, and life returning. Like a mosaic, every tiny detail held its place, contributing to something larger, something quietly radiant.

As the layers built, something shifted.
The heaviness of winter began to dissolve, replaced by a sense of warmth, of sunlight not yet seen but deeply felt. Painting became a way of reconnecting, of returning to a place of calm, balance, and wholeness.

There is a gentle movement within this piece, grasses arching, flowers leaning, light filtering through, as if the garden itself is exhaling after a long stillness.

For the viewer, Mosaic offers that same sense of return.
A place where the eye can wander and rest, where the mind can soften, and where the quiet promise of renewal is always present. In a home, it becomes more than an image, it becomes a living presence of light, colour, and calm. A reminder that even in the greyest seasons, something within us is always gathering itself back into bloom.
