Capture the serene essence of the English countryside with this evocative artwork. Delicate cow parsley blooms sway gracefully across verdant tones, framed beneath a soft cerulean sky. Inspired by a Devon hedgerow, this composition invites peaceful introspection and tranquility into your space, evoking the restorative feeling of solitude in nature's embrace. A sophisticated addition that infuses any room with understated elegance and contemplative calm.

The story behind this painting:  Litheness is the quality of being flexible, supple & graceful, a sense of effortless movement. The word perfectly captures the gentle movement of the Cow Parsley in the meadow as it sways in the breeze, adapting to the weather with effortles ease.

Painting the mellifluous stems of these delicate meadow, I observed how the delicacy of these multi flowered umbells made them look fragile & vulnerable. But, in truth, the supple stems held a hidden strength, bending & dancing with the wind.

My thoughts turned to how we so often hide our  own vulnerability to protect ourselves & become fixed in our belief that showing any weakness is a bad thing. But, if we stand rigid & straight, stubbornly hiding any weakness we end up breaking when the weather of life becomes too much.

If we try being more like the supple stems of the Cow Parsley & gently adapt & move with circumstance, knowing that bending a little will see us through the storm, then we not only survive, but adapt & grow stronger.
