About this paintIng: As Spring meanders into Summer & the doors to life as we used to know it start to open, I found myself still craving the solace & quiet of the devon countryside. My neighbours field has been changing daily from the short grass & dandelions of early Spring to full lush growth of grasses & wild flowers as the weeks move forward.
Every day, just before sunset I wander down the driveway with the dog & stop tplean on the fence & watch the low light gild the meadow. Capturing the many moods of this patch of land has become a project in itself & there is never a shortage of inspiration as each day is so different.
Taking that moment every day to just stop & look, to breathe, listen to the birdsong & the breeze move through the meadow bring a stillness to the mind & peace to the soul.
This little painting is imbued with that moment of quiet hush.
