If only we would stop, every day to take moments to appreciate the things we do have which bring joy. If we can see that happiness comes from family, friends, nature, doing things we love then maybe we would all be happier.
My son once made me so aware of this when I worried that I could not give him much of the material things some of his friends had. He said to me 'Mama, I'm the happiest boy in the world. You give the best hugs, you always support me, you make me smile when I am sad, you always have time to listen to me... who needs a big toy when I have all that?' . As you can imagine, my heart filled with immeasurable happiness. It are these things which make life worth living.
