About this painting: " Goodness 'is a smaller painting on panel, which captures a tranquil fragment of a summer meadow in the sublime light of dusk. This paintings golden tones offer warmth and comfort, imbuing a room with tranquility and repose.
That time of day just before sunset, when everything is gilded in golden light always seems to hold a suspended silence. It’s a time to lay down the labours of the day & take a breath. A time to count every gratitude & blessing. Each tiny achievement of the day & to soak in the late sun in self love & kindness to yourself.
I’ve always found peace at this time of day. Stepping out of the house to wander quietly through the meadow, observing the light, listening to insects preparing to go to their slumber. Whatever the day has held, I think of all the things life has to offer & cherish the opportunity of a moment to lift my face to the sun. Breathing out any tension, breathing in calm.
I often lay down in the long grass & my faithful mutt snuggled into my side. Looking up to rolling fluffy clouds just beginning to blush as the sun sinks towards the horizon.
Having allowed the meadow to grow, I cherish the first year that grasshoppers & green crickets have returned. Their rasping song a percussion accompaniment to the birdsong & bees.
Finding these quiet moments is so vital to wellbeing. A chance to decompress & let go of worries. To reconnect with dreams & aspirations, to cherish every tiny step towards them & appreciate the valuable lessons of mistakes. Finishing the day immersed in the simplicity of Nature & letting her take away the burdens & soothe the soul. Whether it be the patch of grass or garden, or a comfy sofa in candlelight, the little ritual of gratitude & letting go leads to a peaceful night & a morning to start afresh.
'goodness' will bring that evening warmth to your space. the painting is small enough to fit in every alcove but large enough to imbue its surroundings with atmosphere.
