One of the reasons I paint the little moments of mindfulness I find in Nature is in hope that others may take the time to notice the little things & find joy in them.
A few moments of stopping to observe how beautiful the simple things around us are can bring solace to the soul & what I call ‘mini holidays ‘ for the mind. A moment of time to just stop & let Nature show us that there is beauty in even the tiniest, simplest thing.

On a personal level I don’t know where I would be without these little breaks for no thinking about anything & just stoping to take a breath. It doesn’t take long to bring a smile to my face & a sense of wonder that everywhere I look there is something to enjoy.

Life can be so intense & busy & send us into patterns of stress & overactivity. These breaks to look around & stop give our brains little spaces to reset & let go.
I’m lucky that living in the Devon countryside I am surrounded by Nature. But even in a city these rests can be found. The reflection of clouds in the glass of a big building, the play of light & shadow in the streets, the green lush growth in a city square or path.
