About this painting; As the days of lockdown stretched into weeks & months the sense of Appreciation of what I have in life grew stronger. The simplicity of days at a slower pace watching as Nature took a breath & filled the voids left by the lack of human activity.

Whilst  holding the space for empathy for those suffering or losing family members to an invisible foe, the deep gratitude & sense of stillness which the enforced time of immobility had created became greater. The importance of breathing deeply & looking at all that we have. Positive thoughts & finding constructive ways to use the time which we normally never have in our frenetic lives.

Watching the News I was moved to tears, watching brave & dedicated NHS workers at the front line sacrificing their safety & some their lives to help the sick. The appreciation of their efforts touching my heart.

On a soft dreamy background of layers of translucent colours the forget me nots emerged, with their message of gratitude & remembrance.
