About this painting: 'Glimmer' is a small gem of a painting, glowing with bright golden buttercups in a wild flower meadow on a sun dappled background in magenta & purple. it's Happy colours will bring a little pop of joyful colour to any little corner of your home.

Painted while I was doing a pop up exhibition in Totnes, the bright colours of Summer gave me a feeling of warmth & energy. Over the paste years I had become more & more hermity, spending most of my time at home wih my little family & caring for my elderly Mother. This week in the little gallery made me slowly realise that I so need time to myself & to be amongst other people.

It was such an amazing experience to have complete strangers walk into the gallery & lterally hug me, saying that they found the paintings so uplifting. This in urn reminded me of my passion for creating work which makes a difference to how other feel.

We all need time to care for ourselves, to do the things we find uplifting. Making pockets of time to do what we love & be supported by people who see us for who we really are. Especially when lifes responsibilities consume you or you are caring for others.

I hope this little painting makes you feel as uplifted as i was painting it.
