About this painting:  one of the things we have all missed the most during lockdown is the ability to get out and wander freely in the outside spaces we love most. The open fields of the countryside in April were full of rapeseed & wildflowers of which only rare glimpses were caught as I dashed to & from an essential food buying outing.

I painted the two canvas a called free to wander as a journey in my mind to semi abstracted landscape I’d like to be in. Playing with different mediums, textures & tones with glints of gold leaf bringing highlights of light . The painting brings the outdoors in, like a window onto the countryside
