I realised that my daily visit to look at the meadow has become a source of rest \u0026amp; peace in a very profound way. As my mind became lost in the movement of the grasses in the breeze, the way the light dapples through distant trees I became more intune with my inner instincts as my left brain thoughts were put aside.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eListening to that intuition is so vital. You know, that instant first gut feeling you get about a person, a situation, a decision. It comes from a primeval deep connection to life \u0026amp; is always right. Sometimes it is only the briefest second before the thinking brain takes over \u0026amp; persuades us through logic or experience to behave or react differently. Throughout life it's proven over \u0026amp; over again that ignoring that real true instinct always leads me astray. Ignoring it's message takes me to situations which really don't work for my well-being.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's taking time to be in places which quiet the mind which help to get back in tune with intuition \u0026amp; instinct. Stilling the thoughts \u0026amp; taking a moment just to get in touch with what feelings come from the heart \u0026amp; the soul \u0026amp; are indeed our real truth.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe meadow is just one of those places, each day offering something new.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e'Intuition' was painted as a direct response to an evening sitting amongst the buttercups, grasses \u0026amp; sorrel seeds of the meadow. Digging deep to uncover those limiting core beliefs can create a chance to end them, to replace them with something more powerful, positive \u0026amp; promising. One of my neighbours had taken Christmas Day as a good time to ravage the trees \u0026amp; hedgerow growth on the edge of the Haha in our communal grounds. It was due to be tidied sensitivity in the Spring, so the carnage done came as a shock.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt made me think about how differently we all see things… or should I say not see things?\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhere one saw a mess to be removed, I saw beauty. Where the neighbour saw a rough patch of rubbish, I saw a gorgeous tangle of seedheads \u0026amp; bramble sheltering the hibernating little creatures of the countryside\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs always, compromises have to be made when living with shared land but sometimes peoples insensitivity utterly amazes me.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMy response was to instantly start on this huge canvas to immortalise that little patch of Nature, which I found so inspiring. In the morning the sun would hazily glow through the distant trees \u0026amp; illuminate each blade of grass \u0026amp; golden leaf. In the evening the sunset would make it come alive with golden light.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs I painted, a sense of calm took over as each seed head took form \u0026amp; bare winter branches stretched their way across the painting. I came back to the thoughts of how, if you look closely, you can find beauty in the tiniest, simplest things. Just looking at the abundance \u0026amp; variety of Nature brings such a sense of peace.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI feel sad that some can’t even look, let alone see how wonderful everything around us is. Simple moments in Nature bring the mind clarity \u0026amp; the soul inspiration, the body a breath of fresh calm.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOpening our eyes to one leaf with the sunlight glowing through it can open the mind to creativity \u0026amp; wonder. All we have to do is to down a moment to really see. Slowing our pace \u0026amp; seeing all the tiny pockets of beauty around us is a wonderful way of healing the soul. When it comes to brambles \u0026amp; grasses, you don't have to be in the countryside to find Nature taking over. Even in an inner city you will find the wild things taking hold. A dandelion growing between the pavement slabs, brambles or \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 21px;\"\u003econvolvulus\u003c\/span\u003e tangled in railings near railways \u0026amp; bridges. For me , it was learnt behaviour, having watched a Mother being a martyr in a horrific domestic situation. A series of odd happenings, strange coincidences \u0026amp; sheer luck led to discovering a really dangerous fault… a hole opening up in our main gas supply, close to the pilot light, which within days or weeks would have blown us to smithereens if all the weird stuff hadn’t happened.
