About this painting:  Painted as part of my Devon meadows series, 'Just Let Go', took over 5 weeks to create. Over the past year my neighbors wild meadow has been a constant source of inspiration & the place I gather my thoughts & find peace every evening.

An ancient Beech tree overhangs from our driveway over the fence to the meadow, it's leafy fronds reaching down to kiss the grasses & meadow plants as they reach towards it. My favourite time of day is just before sunset, when the sun hangs low in the sky creating halos of light. 

Over the weeks, the painting took on a life of its own. I'd had a fixed idea of colours & how I wanted it to be but the painting kept following its own path. "Just let go" it kept whispering to me. Let go of expectations, let go of all those jumbling thoughts in your head, let go of anxiety & let yourself be.

Over the weeks life kept throwing situations at me, to which the answer was always 'just let go!'. In the end I could do nothing but give in to that message & as I let go of attachment & expectation life became quieter & more peaceful.

The big canvas holds layers & layers of growth to create the grasses & plants. The young leaves of the Beech tree are backlit by the lowering sun & sway gently in the breeze. This a large statement piece painting, which will bring a sense of peace into its home & take you on a wander through the meadow.
